weekend

well.....it was a crazy weekend...it actually started on thursday night. casting crowns was in town and they were free....so i couldn't say no. so i went. it was good great music. great talking. then friday came...the day of our christmas program...we spent the morning at the church for rehearsal nothing like 2 hours with no planned activities and small children. after that finished the day at school and had to be back at the church at 5 and that time got to spend 3 1/2 hours with no plans and small children oh and they couldn't get their costumes dirty nor could they make noise. so sat was going to bum around the house...hoping for one last shot at a tan before i leave for the states in less then 7 days!! actually this time next week it will be less than four hours til i land. sorry sidetracked by excitement. anyhow...i heard that newsboys were in town so went to see them sat night...heard some shotty theology too...to be saved and have the holy spirit in you, you must speak in tongues! not!!! praise god that we don't have to do anything for savation except take it. it's a free gift. so there was a lot of weirdness and tongue speaking and slaying in the spirit so don't think i will go back there... if you want to know what the bible says about tongues look it up its in 1 corinthians 12-14 maybe 15 too. needless to say felt really at home on sunday morning at church and enjoyed the message. it was about eternal rewards and how we are given salvation...it's a free gift all we have to do is ask for it. and we can never loose it...God won't take it away. but we should show him what his gift means for us by living a life that is pleasing to him. then sunday saw the holiday a cute movie...and then was walking to the treadmills and stepped wrong on the drain and ....sprained my ankle :( so i'm hobbling around. hopefully it will be better by monday so i can travel as comfortable as possible in economy class. ok so like 6 days and 3 hours and 30mins i land in minneapolis...will you be there?

sarah's wedding

so way back in May before i even had a blog...sarah and chuck got married. i surprised them and showed up at the wedding. it was a fast but fun trip! don't know if i'll ever make a weekend trip again. i was tired and my plane got delayed so i missed another day of work.

the wedding party

chuck and alex waiting and watching

sarah and her dad

do you take...?

Aww...

the happy couple

grandma, grandpa and all the grandkids

johanna was there too

isn't he cute?

so there's one more pic i'm trying to put on but it won't let me so i'll try later, but i want to get this posted. hope you enjoy!

ahhh

ahhh...hours and hours and hour and oh more hours of time....school is out for five whole days!! that means five days of sleeping in, reading, and playing and doing really whatever i want! i'm a little excited can you tell? well i didn't wake up til 10am that's like a first in a really long time, probably summer!

so for the last two weeks or longer i can't remember singapore has been shrouded in this haze of smoke and smog! it's gross...i can't breathe like a normal person. walking like three steps leaves me winded well ok the three steps may be an exageration but it's bad.

so..plans for this wonderful weekend...read, watch pride and prejudice (BBC version) watch bride and prejudice, watch pride and prejudice(new one), read, clean my room, read, do laundry, read, go to church, read, play games, read, do a little work at school (have to do lesson plans), read, play on the computer, read...oh yeah and SLEEP!!!

i survived

well...the first day of school is over. i have survived. i only had three kids...but they still wore me out. i forget that they don't know how to line up, walk in a straight line, or really do anything...but it was a good day. they were able to play with each other. that was a fear that i had that they wouldn't like each other. i can already see an order. i have one bosy one and two that just take it, although i think that one of them will start to say no to the bosy one. i saw a little of it today. sorry it's been so long since i've written anything. some day i will get on and post pics of my trips and talk about them too. well i'm in great need of starbucks and lunch food for tomorrow. have a great night/morning depending on where you are.

Life

Well it's been awhile. I've been busy here at my parents house. Two aunts and a cousin were here for a week so we showed them around the area. I've done a lot of shopping which is good cuz I don't get to do that much. Hung out with friends from high school...That's good I enjoy spending time with them. I miss them while I'm gone. Not much going on this week, my mom has days off for most of the week so we'll go to water aerobics every day. Got get the exercising in !!

well...

well boredom as sunk in... i hate the last few hours before the flight. is it worth it to sleep for a few hours or should i just stay up? did i forget anything in my packing? is it all there. if i did i can just pick it up in the states. i need to weigh my suit cases, too. maybe i'll be able to buy stuff in seattle and mt. st. helens. ok so i've put off the packing long enough i must go finish it. have a good night. it'll be a couple days till i return.

freezing

well, it's not very often you can say it's cold here in singapore, but i'm FREEZING!!! now granted i was just in my airconned bedroom on the phone, but still usually i warm up instantly when i com outside of my room, i think it was actually cooler outside my room than in. well maybe not quite. anyway, i'm avoidig packing, i really don't enjoy it and i have two huge suitcases to pack and a room to clean and only 8 hours left. so i should probably start.

church was good today. pastor talked about working out your faith and how you don't need to work for salvation, but you do need to grow in your faith and you do that by working. challenge was has your relationship grown with the Lord in the last year? the last week? good challenge.

ants

so last night was late. went out for tea with some friends. we started about 1030pm and didn't end until about 130am. it was good tho. saw a friend i haven't seen in several months and it's always good to catch up on what's going on in his life. then got home and wasn't tired, hmm maybe it was the 2 pots of tea i drank :) so i called a friend in the states, then my parents. was finally 3am before i slept. so opted for 2nd service for church this am. i'm excited, i really enjoy our new pastor and what he teaches us. well it's about time to head out to church. i leave for the states in 14 hours. well for the airport, plane doesn't leave until 630am.

vietnam

hello, well just finished four days in ho chi minh city. it was wonderful, the perfect amount of time to see the city. saw the cu chi tunnels that the viet cong used during the war, and the mekong river delta, was very relaxing. also spent a day shopping and spent too much money, but have a good amount of stuff to give so i'm excited about that.

so a little about me... my name is heidi. i live in singapore. i teach at a small international christian school. the school year just finished, i have officially taught for 2 1/2 years as a pre-school/kindergarten teacher, and will be doing only preschool next year!!!! i'm excited about it. i love the little kids, there hearts are so open and loving. as you can see i don't like to use the shift key, so there's not a lot of capitals, and honestly my spelling is bad and so's my puncutation.

don't know how often i'll update this as most days i come home from teaching exhausted and just flop into bed so... but i have two months of vacation so maybe i'll get to it. will get some pictures up soon too, probably in the next couple of weeks. have a trip to seattle and mount saint helens and then to my parent's house in wiscosin.

well i think there's some plans to go out tonight will try to figure it out.
